The Regional Population Office (RPO) has intensified its coordinative activities with local government units through its provincial, city and municipal counterparts for the much-needed ground work for the implementation of the RH-FP program particularly, the conduct of Family Development Session as the agency’s contribution in the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The Province of Benguet was the first to respond to requests for PPMP and FDS Orientation. This was followed by Abra. Both provinces committed to shoulder the expenses for the conduct of such orientations. Kalinga, Mountain Province and Ifugao followed after schedules have been synchronized.
The provincial orientations were attended by local chief executives, Provincial Health Office and Provincial Social Welfare personnel including all provincial, city and municipal Population Officers and Workers.
The results of such orientations were commitments from various local chief executives to support the program in terms of personnel and other logistics, request for orientation on Population and Development, schedules of selected municipal PPMP/FDS orientations and follow-up meetings/ dialogues, a deeper appreciation of the program as well as LGU appreciation of the new RPO leadership.
The second and the succeeding quarters shall measure the extent to which agreements and commitments made by both the RPO and the various LGU partners will be realized.
